GC1BFT6 - L'Amoreaux Park North

Today I went after a multi cache. I haven't done many multi caches, and it was such a beautiful day, my wife and I decided to go to L'Amoreaux Park and see if we can track down a cache I've been keeping an eye on.

Well... today I logged my first DNF. The closest I came to a DNF was in West Guilford, a park was closed, and the people I was with didn't want to enter the park when it wasn't open. This one though, was a legit DNF. It kinda made me sad, but in a way it was actually a lot of fun at the same time.

It was a really fantastic walk, and it was a park that I had never been to before. It was beautiful in the late fall, so I imagine that it would be only more beautiful in the spring, summer and early fall. I got some awesome pictures (below), and Nimoy, Alyssa and I had a great had a great time wandering through the forest.

I'm really ok with it being a DNF because, as I learned a few weeks ago, I am definitely a journey minded person rather than destination minded. Way back when we were in West Guilford (http://www.chazownlife.com/ChazownTrekerz/west-guilford.html), one of our drivers was super intense on getting to West Guilford, and on the drive back, getting back to Toronto.

Now, it is a 3 hour drive, so I see some of his concern, but I really don't care. I love driving. A lot of my friends think I'm kind of crazy because it is nothing for me to 2 hours to go visit someone. I'm very journey minded, because the journey is just as important as the whole trip!

So for me, it could be something simple. If someone wants to stop for a coffee, or someone is a little hungry, I'm all for finding a nice little spot to rest a while, hang out, and just enjoy life. Or it could be even crazier, like someone could see a road they think is interesting, or a town with a funny name and want to see it. I'm all for it.

I don't really know why I'm like this, but, I was so happy with my hike (which was actually a walk... I just think hike sounds more manly). It was a gorgeous day, a rare warm one (for Canada in late fall). I didn't spend all day inside on my computer or watching TV, but I got out running around. Nimoy and Alyssa had a great time, and as I said before, yet again got to see part of the city I have never seen. So... it was awesome :).
